Sustainably Beautifying the Connecticut Avenue Corridor
In 2025, the VNMS Pollinator Planting Program, headed by Master Gardener, Master Naturalist, and Van Ness resident Kathy Sykes, will celebrate its 7th year of service to the Van Ness, Wakefield, and Forest Hills corridor.
All along Connecticut Avenue, you will see the gorgeous native plant beds that Kathy and our dedicated volunteers have planted and tended over the years. They are literally buzzing with activity all spring and summer and have created a wonderful home for beneficial insects that are critical to supporting a healthy, sustainable environment.
In the Spring and Fall, Kathy partners with volunteers who help maintain the garden beds. Our Spring 2025 dates are coming up soon! Please join us - all ages and experience levels are welcome!
