The inaugural District Fringe Festival is coming to Van Ness! District Fringe was created by artists for artists to promote and propel the strong independent theater tradition in the DC area.

The 2025 festival will take place over three weekends from July 11 to 27, 2025, with performances Wednesday to Sunday. The festival will activate spaces at the UDC Lecture Hall 44A03 and the outdoor amphitheater, plus additional spaces around Van Ness Main Street, including a pop-up bar/community gathering space where patrons can purchase drinks, snacks, and hang out and connect with other patrons and District Fringe artists. There will be a District Fringe Opening Night Party on July 11 starting at 9pm, with location and details coming soon.

Tickets will be available June 27 at www.districtfringe.com/tickets

The District Fringe Festival will feature seven productions that were chosen for full multi-night runs, with an additional eight productions selected for one-night-only performances. All acts in the festival are locally grown from first-time playwrights to established producers.
